Need & Challenge
Perdido is the world’s deepest spar, and the second-deepest oil and gas production facility. It commenced production in 2010, configured with 31 production wells, eight water injectors, two manifolds and an artificial lift control system with electric submersible pumps (ESPs). The client was initially using a PC based Subsea Communication architecture with a maximum of 4 wells in a subsystem that was a first-generation product.
The Challenge was to provide a fully scalable solution that should be capable of handling the hardware for the entire life of the subsea wells including all new drilled well in the field.

Solution & Outcome
W-industries provided a fully scalable and customizable system utilizing a Master Control Station (MCS) system that is highly customizable and scalable. The system was set-up to suit any field requirement, and have been used in fields with a single Subsea Control Module (SCM) with one Production Tree to those involving a potential to expand to 96 SCMs with a complex mixture of Production, Water/Gas Injection Trees, associated Manifolds, flow metering and down hole instrumentation & control.
